Cat Scratch Disease

Cat scratch disease is caused by the bacteria Bartonella Hensellae, commonly transmitted by the scratch of bite of a cat. Ophthalmic manifestations include an optic neuroretinitis, conjunctivitis, and scleritis. The disease usually resolves spontaneously, but sometimes antibiotics are used to hasten resolution.
