Retinal Capillary Angioma

Retinal capillary angiomas begin as small pink bud-like lesions in the periphery of the retina or adjacent to the optic nerve. If not detected they grow and develop large feeder vessels. This photograph shows a larger lesion of approximately 1.5 mm in diameter. Notice the large feeder vessels. At this stage they can be treated by repetitive cryotherapy.
