Age Related Macular Degeneration - Wet Form, Fluorescein Angiogram
Fluorescein angiograms are black and white pictures of the retina after a food coloring is injected into the patient's vein. The dye looks white in these pictures. The white round area is an abnormal group of blood vessels under the retina. This fluorescein angiogram belongs to the patient shown in the picture Age Related Macular Degeneration - Wet Form. Laser treatment is used to attempt to destroy this abnormal group of blood vessels.
