Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion with Ischemic Whitening of Retina
These are photographs of the right eye of a 95 year old man with a branch retinal artery occlusion. Panel A is the color fundus photograph. The occlusion of blood flow leads to ischemic whitening of the retina (yellow arrows). Panel B is a frame from the arteriovenous phase of the fluorescein angiogram. The embolus is marked by a green arrow. Panel C is the spectral domain optical coherence tomography B scan image. The green arrow indicates the demarcation line between perfused and nonperfused retina. The nonperfused retina shows increased reflectivity of the internal layers.
