Peripheral Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion without Neovascularization

69 year-old female, referred for evaluation of a Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion (BRVO) in the left eye. Color Fundus photo (frame A) reveals a BRVO superior temporal to the macula (black circle). The green arrows indicate an area of hemorrhage, with the blue arrow indicating cotton wool spots just superior to the macula. SD-OCT (frame B) shows one paracentral cyst (yellow arrow) but no macular edema. No treatment was recommended. Stressed metabolic control with the patient; cessation of smoking and control over blood pressure and cholesterol.
