Melanocytoma - Example of Growth

The photos above, are of a 52 year old male, with a melanocytoma of the left eye. He has been followed by a doctor in Denver Colorado, since the mid 2000’s and had yearly exams and photographs. The picture to the right, from 2009, shows a large melanocytoma, extending from the optic nerve, and occluding about half of it. Now in 2015, the photo to the left shows a larger, with the border of the mass occluding about ¾ of the optic disc. The mass also appears more elevated in nature and denser, obscuring retinal vessels that were seen in the 2009 photo(Green arrow). B-Scan ultrasound revealed an increased elevation to the melanocytoma along with a greater base diameter.
