Hemicentral Retinal Vein Occlusion

Hemicentral retinal vein occlusions have similar patterns of risk factors, pathogenesis, clinical signs, and response to treatments as central retinal vein occlusions. They differ from branch retinal vein occlusions in this regard. For example, primary open angle glaucoma is a strong risk factor for central and hemicentral retinal vein occlusion, but a weak risk factor for branch retinal vein occlusion.
