Toxoplasmosis Retinochoroiditis with Wide Angle Color Fundus
These wide angle color fundus photographs were taken of a 23-year-old female with Toxoplasma retinochoroiditis. She complained of seeing a fuzzy spot in the visual field of her left eye. She has a pre-exisitng pigmented scar with two adjacent areas of retinitis (green and yellow arrows). She was prescribed Bactrim DS and returned after a month. The lesions appear bigger in the first color optos due to active retinitis. With regression of retinitis, the scarring appears smaller in the photograph taken one month later. Recurrences intermittently are possible, and the patient was advised to return for a recurrence of similar symptoms.
