Laser Chorioretinal Venous Anastomosis - Mature
Photograph of the fundus of an eye 1 year after laser chorioretinal venous anastomosis procedure for nonischemic central retinal vein occlusion. The black arrow denotes the anastomosis, where the retinal vein connects to the deeper choroidal venous system. Retinal venous blood travels out this anastomosis, thus bypassing the normal drainage route out the central retinal vein. Note the abrupt change in venous diameter at the anastomosis(compare the venous diameter at the yellow arrow and the green arrow).
