Unilateral Acute Idiopathic Maculopathy - Fundus Photographs

These are the fundus photographs of an 11 year old boy who had an episode of sore throat 2 weeks earlier. His left eye developed blurry vision to the level of 20/100, but rapidly, and spontaneously, began to improve. At the time these photographs were taken, the vision in the left eye had improved to 20/30. There is a bulls-eye macular lesion with a hypopigmented annulus surrounding a hyperpigmented central zone.
