Choroidal Melanoma - Large with subretinal fluid
This 50-year old female, presented with loss of visual field and blurred central vision in the left eye for 3 months. Upon examination, a choroidal melanoma (black arrow) was found with subretinal fluid extending into the macula (green arrows). The blue arrows show the level of elevation caused by the subretinal fluid. THe greatest basal diameter was 15 mm and the thickness was 6.5 mm. After discussion with the patient, she elected I125 plaque therapy rather than enucleation. Liver enzymes and liver ultrasound were performed and no metastasis was found.
