Lymphoma Related CMV Retinitis-Original Presentation
75 year old female, presenting upon referral for retinal detachment in the right eye, with loss of vision for about 1 week. Upon exam, a retinal detachment was found in the right eye; however, a severe case of retinitis was present. The vitreous was dense with debris, but a blurred view was available for optos color fundus photos. The disc (black arrow) is barely visible through the dense debris, and the detachment can be seen superior and temporal to the disc (yellow arrow). Patient was taken for vitrectomy to repair the detachment, and for vitreous cultures for possible lymphoma infiltration. These cultures returned negative for any metastatic pathology.
