Retinoschisis with Bilateral Outer Layer Retinal Breaks
These are wide angle color fundus photographs (Optos images) from a 41-year-old male with retinoschisis. You can see bilateral outer layer breaks (yellow arrows). The reddish linear lesion is an artifact (blue arrow); notice how it is the same in both eyes. The lesion indicated by the red arrow is congenital hypertrophy of the retinal pigment epithelium, which is independent of retinoschisis and is a coincidental concomitant finding.
