Interferon-Associated Retinopathy
Interferon alpha is used as a treatment for hepatitis C to reduce liver damage. One side effect is a retinal microangiopathy called interferon-associated retinopathy. This is characterized by cotton wool spots, small intraretinal hemorrhages, and occasionally cystoid macular edema.
